Our specialty is antique finishing on new furniture, cabinets, doors, windows, architectural elements, etc. This may include hand shaping and distress to achieve that “Old World” appearance exhibited by fine heirloom antiques and furniture of the past. We are adept at making new furniture, cabinets or any chair, window or door appear hundreds of years old as well as breathing new life and luster into old and broken down antiques, furniture, kitchen cabinets, etc.
This finishing includes antique and faux paint finishes and handmade and applied stains, glazes and toners combined with expertly applied surface finishes. These finishes include lacquer and two part catalyzed polyurethanes. All finishes are hand rubbed to achieve that warm rich patina of the ages. In addition, we are expert in application of lacquer paint and clear coats and two part catalyzed, polyurethane paint and clear coats to achieve automotive quality paintwork on any surface.
"Green" finishing is gaining in popularity and we are embracing this mandate with low and zero VOC water borne paint and clear finish products as well.
Repair, painting and refinishing of kitchen cabinets, furniture, antiques, wall paneling, handrails and balustrades is an integral part of the restoration services that we offer in Van Nuys. Hand stripping is performed on all fragile pieces. We are expert in the repair of broken and or pet chewed and damaged chairs, tables, furniture etc. We also repair, strip and refinish veneers and fine wood marquetry. In addition we restore, repair and apply real and composition gold leaf.
